JUST START

how to style motto boots petite and boldI will never get used to the fact that some sweet people actually recognize me on the streets in Montréal. " Oh wait you're Petite and Bold, I follow you and love what you do", " You are inspiring keep it up ", "Can we take a picture?".It is always so humbling and may I add flattering cause I do look like myself on social media versus in real life. Props to not using photoshop or face tune to change my appearance LOL.I'm often asked what I did to grow Petite and Bold and get to the point I am now ( full disclosure: I still have a long way to go to reach my goals ); so I thought it would be a great idea to share my personal tips.

Start

I'm a perfectionist, but I've learned that most of the time, you just have to start. Perfection is not real, progress is. My content creation adventure started with a very plain blogger template in 2012. I did not wait to have the perfect blog design. I just needed a creative outlet to share what I loved. So I did it, and have not looked back since.

Define your brand and Niche

We all go through rebirths, we learn more about ourselves. I have changed so much the last few years; and I wanted my blog to be a reflection of my growth. I re-branded in 2015 with a all new perspective and it felt like such an important step up. The aesthetic of my blog portrayed my branding. Since then, everything I opted for ( the blog's design for example ), the collaborations I did were all related to my branding.Having a clear idea of my niche has also helped me to grow. There is room for everyone, there is an audience that is fit for you. Target it while staying consistent and authentic.

Be patient + Professional

You don't get noticed overnight, you won't be able to monetize your blog right away. Word hard, be kind and do it because it makes you come alive. I've also find that staying professional in my relationships with brands, PR companies etc ... has helped me build trust which is so important in the blogging industry. It' ll open doors!

Network

I'm shy ( been working on changing that over the years ) and I'm an introvert. I easily get and look very awkward when I'm surrounded by people I don't know; embarrassing I know! However, it is immensely crucial to connect, collaborate with like minded creatives. There will always be a positive impact.

Surround yourself with the right people

There's nothing worst than people that will drain your energy or bring you down. As we get older, we learn to pin point those who make us feel sad, not good enough; and we stay away from them. I can definitely say that everything I'm able to accomplish today has to do with the support I get from the people who matter to me and that I keep close.

I hope these tips will be helpful in any way. I'd love to know your thoughts or anything you'd like to share.
